Frequently asked questions
Everything drivers and owners ask us most.
For drivers
How do I book a space?
Search by location, open a listing, and choose either a monthly let or a daily date range. Your request goes to the space owner, who accepts or declines it. You'll see the status change in “My bookings”.
When do I pay?
Online payments aren't live yet. Once the owner confirms your booking, you arrange payment terms directly with them. When payments launch, everything will be handled securely through the platform.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes. Open “My bookings” and press Cancel on any pending or confirmed booking. There is no cancellation fee during our early-access period.
Is my vehicle insured while parked?
Your own vehicle insurance continues to apply. Prime Parking does not currently provide additional cover, so check your policy if you have specific concerns.
When do I get the exact address?
Listings show the street and an approximate map location. The precise address and any access instructions are shared once the owner confirms your booking.
Do you cover my town?
We're growing fast. Current listings span Greater London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Brighton and more. If your town isn't covered yet, listings from local owners are the quickest way to change that.
For space owners
What can I list?
Driveways, garages, private car park bays and storage units such as lock-ups. The space should be yours to let, safe to access, and accurately described.
How much should I charge?
Check our price guide for typical rates by area, then look at live listings near you. Spaces near stations, hospitals and stadiums support higher prices, as do features like gating, CCTV and EV charging.
Does listing cost anything?
No. Creating and running a listing is free. We plan to introduce a small commission on completed bookings when payments go live, and we'll announce details well in advance.
Do I have to accept every booking?
Not at all. Every request lands in your owner dashboard where you accept or decline it. You can also deactivate your listing at any time.
Do I need to tell my mortgage provider or insurer?
Letting a parking space is usually low-impact, but rules vary by lender, insurer and lease. We recommend checking your mortgage terms, home insurance and any leasehold covenants before listing.
What about tax on my earnings?
In the UK, property income may fall within your £1,000 property income allowance; above that, it may need declaring to HMRC. This isn't tax advice — check gov.uk or speak to an accountant.
